Day 1: Guwahati - Nameri National Park: Start your journey as you arrive at Guwahati and proceed to Nameri National Park today. The journey would take approximately six hours and the roads would be wide and you wouldn't gain too much altitude today. Stay overnight at the Nameri Eco Camp or a similar hotel overnight. If you reach early you and if the season is right for river rafting it's a good sport to enjoy at Nameri.
Day 2: Nameri National Park - Bomdila: A jungle walk can be arranged at Nameri national park and there are elephant rides as well. You could do either of that if you are interested and then proceed to Bomdila today. After an hour long drive from Nameri National Park you will reach Bhalukpong, the border town of Arunachal Pradesh. You will need to show the Inner Line Permit which we will arrange for you beforehand at the check post before proceeding further. After Bhalukpong you will quickly start gaining altitude. The Orchid research center, Chilipam monastery near Rupa and Bomdila monastery are few important places you can visit today. Bomdila is at a higher altitude than Dirang and it is always advisable to stay overnight at Bomdila before you proceed to Tawang even though many operators try to push your journey all the way up to Dirang on the second day which might get you altitude sick for the rest of your journey.
Day 3: Bomdila - Tawang: It's a long journey today with really scenic places all along the route. After an hour and half from Bomdila you will reach the town of Dirang which you will be visiting on your way back. Sela pass, Paradise lake and Jaswant Garh memorial are a few attractions for the day. Cover as many places as possible en route and reach Tawang before it's dark. Whatever places you missed on your journey today can be covered on your way back from Tawang.
Day 4: Tawang local sightseeing: Spend a day relaxing at Tawang visiting the historical Tawang monastery, War memorial, Iron bridge and the market. There are some really good eateries at Tawang market if you would like to try the Tibetian food. The passes for your trip to Bum La will be processed today and the availability totally depends on army permission and weather conditions.
Day 5: Tawang - Bum La - Sungester Tso(Madhuri lake) - Takstang Gompa - PT Tso - Tawang: Start your journey as early as possible today morning because the road condition to Bum La is very rough and the ride can take a while. But the drive thru the snow and the feeling of spending time with the soldiers at the pass is amazing. After visiting Bum La drive back towards Y Junction and proceed to Sungester Tso which is also known as Madhuri lake because it was made popular by a song in a bollywood film. Takstang Gompa is a few minutes drive from the lake and on your way back from the Gompa you can stop at the PT Tso as well. Reach Tawang by evening and spend the evening taking rest at the hotel.
Day 6: Tawang - Dirang: Say goodbye to Tawang and start your journey back to Dirang today. Start early in the morning and visit the Jung Falls near Tawang before you proceed to Dirang. Then you can also have a stop at Se La again to enjoy the beauty of the lake. Reach Dirang by evening and visit the beautiful riverside Sangi valley before you check in at the hotel.
Day 7: Dirang - Pobitora Wildlife Sanctury: Start your drive back towards Guwahati early in the morning. Instead of staying at Guwahati you could also stay at Pobitora Wildlife Sanctury which is just a couple of hours from Guwahati to see the endangered Indian Rhinoceros.
Day 8: Pobitora Wildlife Santury - Guwahati: If the elephant safari is functional at the park during the time of your visit one could do that in the early morning slot and then proceed to Guwahati. Say goodbye to the driver and get dropped at Guwahati. If you have time and interest Kamakhya temple at Guwahati can be visited either on the last day or on the first day.
